This programs great, get to watch he fan cpu and voltage. Gives you a good indicator when a new cpu fan is needed and if your having any cpu problem with voltage swings like i did with a older computer of mine. To the previous comments, Some mother boards have the ability to set your cpu fan in the bios. This program doesn't work with all mother boards.

Hi,
I'm struggling a bit even after reading the excellent tutorial. I have just built a Windows 7 proffesional machine with an old abit aa8xe board in it. The fans simply roar away the whole time irrespective of what settings I put in the bios or in speed fan. Whatever I do they don't seem to change. Can anyone help!?!?!

Hey, ive switched everything off in temp except 1 so i can control 1 fan and not all. Though it wont change the RPM for that 1 fan (wich is spinning way too fast, but its just some sort of backup fan). Ive set the speed to 30% and max 40% but it doesnt do anything.. Is there a way to set the RPM manually to say like a 1000? I cant seem to find it in the controls.
Got the latest Speedfan.

Kind regards,

Bram

Thanks for the guide, it was very helpful. I was just using Speedfan to monitor CPU temperatue and see what the difference was with a new CPU fan. Its great to know about its ability to control fan speed and how to best implement it.

I have a M3A78-CM motherboard and i am trying to control my fan speed with no luck. I just downloaded Speedfan and getting ready to set it up. BUt i want to k n ow what Hypertransport is, my motherboard has it and wonder if i should turn it off also. The mobo is new and since i installed it the fan is loud, never was before. I am running Windoews Vista Home Premium and want to know if there are certain fan values i should consider or should i buy a new fan to go with the mobo.
